Spot Details
This is perhaps the best kept park in Townsville. It's officially a cricket ground, but when not used is a great land kiting spot, however, the winds need to really come from the South or North, as the trees on the East side cut off a lot of the wind, plus it's miles from the coast, but it's great when the Northerlies or Southerlies kick in with about 20knots from the coast. And it does get gusty. But if you can control the kite and land kite well, then this is a great spot. Plenty of room, but don't get too close to the trees and watch out for the light poles! But the grass is rich and soft - great for hard landings. Don't thrash the grass or we'll get banned!
